One went missing and five people were seriously injured on Wednesday when a Turkish coast guard boat capsized in the Bosphorus Strait after crashing into a cargo carrier.

Five out of six crew members in the boat were seriously wounded while the sixth was still missing, local media reported.

The accident occurred off Istanbul's historic Sarayburnu neighborhood in Fatih district, Istanbul Governor Vasip Sahin told reporters on the scene.

Turkish media said the cargo carrier, whose flag and identity were unknown, continued to sail after the crash.
