Cambodian police arrest Chinese man with over 4 kg of rhino horn

Xinhua, August 17, 2016 Adjust font size:

A Chinese man has been arrested when arriving at Cambodian capital airport with more than 4 kg of rhinoceros horns in his luggage, the Cambodia Daily reported Wednesday, citing an official.

The man was traveling from Namibia but arrived at Phnom Penh International Airport on Sunday afternoon on a Qatar Airlines flight that originated in Doha, said Leang Hay, chief of customs at the airport.

"We decided to check the target after we learned what country he'd been traveling from," he was quoted as saying by the newspaper.

The seizure--eight pieces of horn weighing 4.38 kg--was the fifth major seizure of rhino horn at a Cambodian airport since 2012, he said. Enditem
