The Nigerian government on Saturday announced that it has arrested two prominent members of a militant group, the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) in southern city of Warri in Delta State.

The suspects were apprehended last Thursday around Sapele area of the state, Commodore Joseph Dzunye of the Nigerian Navy said at a news conference. (Nigeria-Militants-Arrest)

GENEVA -- A young man attacked several passengers on a train near the northern Swiss city of St. Gallen on Saturday afternoon, injuring at least six people, local media and police source said.

The Swiss News Agency reported that the 27-year-old man was thought to have used a knife and set flammable liquid on fire, injuring at least one of the passengers severely. (Switzerland-Train Attack)

HAVANA -- Cuban leader and former president Fidel Castro on Saturday, thanked all the good wishes for his 90th birthday, and slammed the U.S. for the "dangers" it has caused against humanity.

DAMASCUS -- At least 51 people were killed Saturday as a result of rebels' shelling and airstrikes in Syria's northern city of Aleppo, a monitor group reported.

Four children and six women were among those killed by rebels' shelling on government-controlled areas and Syrian airstrikes on rebel-held districts, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. (Syria-Aleppo-Airstrikes)

CARACAS -- The re-opening of the Colombia-Venezuela border began on Saturday at 5 am (0900 GMT), in an "ordered, controlled and gradual" fashion, shortly before the anniversary of its closure on Aug. 19.
