Greek freighter in China for collision investigation

Xinhua, August 13, 2016 Adjust font size:

A Greek cargo ship suspected of being involved in the sinking of a Chinese fishing boat on Thursday is now anchored off the coast of Fujian Province, maritime authorities said Saturday.

Greek freighter Anangel Courage is believed to have collided with a fishing boat from the province in the East China Sea early Thursday, causing the latter to sink, the Fujian maritime bureau said in a press release.

Six of the fishing boat crew were rescued, and the search for another eight missing fishermen is continuing.

Anangel Courage cast anchor off Fujian at around 7 p.m. Friday. Investigators have questioned the crew and collected navigational data for analysis. Endi
