Ervin becomes oldest Olympic swimming champion in 50m freestyle

Anthony Ervin of the United States became the oldest swimmer to win an individual Olympic event when he claimed gold in the 50m freestyle at the Rio Games on Friday.
The 35-year-old finished in 21.40 seconds, just one hundredth of a second ahead of defending champion Florent Manaudou of France.
Nathan Adrian of the United States took bronze at Rio's Olympic Aquatics Stadium in 21.49 seconds.
It was the USA's 14th swimming gold medal of the Rio Games. Endit
