Myanmar's western, northwestern states alerted for flood and landslide

Xinhua, August 11, 2016 Adjust font size:

Myanmar's weather bureau has alerted the country's northwestern and western states of Chin and Rakhine for the possibilities of flash flood and landslide as depression is forming over the northwest Bay of Bengal, official media reported Thursday.

At present, the depression is not likely to move towards Myanmar. It is located near a coastal section near India and Bangladesh.

However, Chin and northern Rakhine states are in the depression's circle, then the weather formation is coded at orange level.

The condition would be rough with squalls and strong wind up to 40 miles per hour along the Rakhine coast, according to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology. Endit
