Urgent: Polling starts for Zambia elections, referendum

Polling started Thursday morning for Zambia' s general elections and referendum.

About 6.7 million registered voters are expected to cast their ballots at nearly 7,700 polling stations across the country, which opened from 6 a.m to 6 p.m.

Apart from electing a president, the electorate will be choosing 156 lawmakers, 1,624 local councilors, city mayors and voting for a referendum to amend the constitution. Endi
