LISBON -- A forest fire in Portugal's Madeira island has left three people killed, the autonomous regional government revealed on Wednesday.

MEXICO CITY -- The death roll rose to 50 after tropical storm Earl triggered landslides in Mexico's central and eastern mountainous communities over the weekend, a government official said Wednesday.

LIMA -- At least 17 people were killed and 41 injured when two passenger buses collided on the Panamericana highway, in the southern region of Ica, the country's highway police announced Wednesday.
