Ministers council accepts Bulgarian Air Force commander's resignation

- The Council of Ministers of Bulgaria on Wednesday accepted the resignation of Bulgarian Air Force Commander General Rumen Radev.

According to an official statement, the cabinet officially asked Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev to issue a decree on the resignation of Radev.

Korneliya Ninova, chairperson of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), said BSP and the Alternative for Bulgarian Revival (ABV) were preparing to nominate Radev as their joint presidential candidate in the upcoming elections.

Radev resigned as commander of the Bulgarian Air Force over obtaining the right to retire on Aug. 1. Presidential elections will be held on Nov. 6, the parliament said. Endit
