Tanasan wins first weightlifting gold at Rio Olympics

Sopita Tanasan of Thailand won the women's 48kg weightlifting gold medal at the Olympic Games here on Saturday.

Tanasan snatched 92kg and jerked 108kg for a two-lift total of 200kg for the gold medal, Sri Wahyunl Agustiani of Indonesia got the silver with 192kg and Hiromi Miyake of Japan bagged home the bronze in 188kg. Endit
