Negotiable market cap of China's stock markets stays almost flat

The negotiable market cap of the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock markets had increased to 36.7 trillion yuan (5.53 trillion U.S. dollars) by Friday's close, up 0.07 percent from a week earlier, data showed.

Total market capitalization of the two bourses hit 46.81 trillion yuan, an increase of 0.36 percent week on week, according to data from the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges.

The average stock price on the two markets was 9.96 yuan, unchanged from one week earlier.

The Shanghai stock market has 1,112 listed firms, while 1,793 companies are listed on the Shenzhen stock market.

The benchmark Shanghai composite index fell 0.09 percent from one week earlier to end at 2,976.7. The Shenzhen composite index edged up 0.12 percent to close at 10,342.28. Endi
