Germany's benchmark DAX index closes higher

The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Friday went up and closed at 10,367.21 points.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics disclosed on Friday that 255,000 more jobs were created in July, more than expected, which drove the DAX index up by 139.35 points, or 1.36 percent, according to local analysts.

Volkswagen added 3.68 percent. Linde, an industrial gas company, climbed by 3.65 percent. Deutsche Bank rose by 3.55 percent. Continental advanced by 3.38 percent. Thyssenkrupp went up by 3.06 percent.

On the other hand, the utilities company RWE fell by 1.73 percent. Allianz dropped by 1.37 percent. ProSiebenSat1 Media slipped by 1.34 percent. Vonovia, a real estate company, went down by 0.66 percent.

Allianz was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 436.06 million euros (485.71 million U.S. dollars). Endit
