Gas supply from Slovakia to Ukraine increased, says Slovak firm

Xinhua, August 4, 2016 Adjust font size:

The amount of gas flowing via a so-called reverse flow from Slovakia to Ukraine has increased recently, Slovak gas transmission company Eustream said on Thursday.

"The volume of natural gas transported in the direction of Ukraine began to grow significantly in the second half of July, and at the moment it's greatly exceeding 30 million cubic meters per day," said Eustream's external communications specialist Pavol Kubik.

"In the case of the reverse flow -- as well as for other cross-connecting points -- we're properly meeting the needs of our customers," he added. The total capacity of the Vojany-Uzhorod pipeline is around 40 million cubic meters.

Eustream's goal is to transport natural gas from Russia to Slovakia and then on to other European markets. Enditem
