Xinhua, August 4, 2016 Adjust font size:

Fifteen people from seven countries in the EU, who were invited to visit China by the Confucius Institute, have finally wrapped up their tour of the country.

Members of the group were winners of an EU-wide contest where they had to submit articles, pictures, videos and paintings on the theme of China-EU friendship. It was jointly sponsored by the Confucius Institute and the Mission of the People's Republic of China to the European Union.

Ranging from a former ambassador to China and a corporate consultant, to an artist and a college student, the winners came from Belgium, Bulgaria, Italy, Poland, Hungary the U.K., and the Netherlands.

The tour, which lasted from July 23 to Aug. 1, involved visiting museums, communities, households and villages in Beijing and northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region to review the country's social and economic development as well as poverty relief efforts. Endi
