Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen said on Tuesday that the strategic partnership between the ten-country Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and China is very important and gives huge benefits to ASEAN.

"The relations between ASEAN and China have provided enormous benefits to ASEAN. Therefore, Cambodia always plays a coordinating role to ensure harmony in the ASEAN-China relations," he said during the inauguration ceremony of a national road in western Kampong Speu province.

He said that trade and investment volumes between ASEAN and China are huge and ASEAN has exported many kinds of products to Chinese market.

Also, he said millions of Chinese tourists have visited ASEAN countries every year.

Meanwhile, the prime minister hailed China's foreign policy for treating friendly countries equally, regardless of small or big.

"China is a country that always respects for the independence and sovereignty of other countries and pays attention to assisting developing countries," Hun Sen said. Endit
