Indonesia's foreign tourist arrival rises 5.9 pct in H1

The number of foreign holiday makers visiting Indonesia in the first half of 2016 rose 5.88 percent to 5.29 million people, the national statistic bureau announced here on Monday.

In September 2015, Indonesia extended free visa facilities to 90 countries from 67 nations in an effort to attract more foreign tourist arrivals.

Indonesia expects 12 million foreign tourist arrivals this year and 20 million by 2020, according to tourism ministry.

Last year, about 10 million foreign holiday makers visited the country, it said. Enditem
