Gunmen kill Lebanese in northern Nigeria state

Xinhua, July 31, 2016 Adjust font size:

Nigeria's police in northwest Kano State on Sunday said a Lebanese was killed by unknown gunmen at his residence.

State police spokesperson El-Mustapha Sani told Xinhua that Moin Amsuri, a mathematics teacher, at the prestigious Nagarta College, Sokoto, was killed on Thursday by gunmen who are right now at large.

"We are suspecting that the assailants were armed robbers as his Toyota car is still missing," Sani said.

The police would not relent until the perpetrators of the nefarious act were fished out and brought to justice, the spokesperson added.

The late Amsuri taught mathematics in various secondary schools in the state for over three decades.

The spokesperson told Xinhua that investigation surrounding the incident would continue, adding that police has intensified their dragnet to ensure they bring the culprits to face the wrath of the law. Endit
