At least one person was killed and two others wounded on Friday after a bomb attack rocked near a overpass in western part of Afghan capital of Kabul, a witness said.

"A sticky bomb attached to a sedan was detonated roughly at 6:30 p.m. local time. One person aboard the vehicle was killed, the car caught fire and destroyed by the blast which took place just under the Kota-e-Sangi overpass," witness Hoshang Mohammad told Xinhua.

A plume of black smoke was rising above the scene where several shopping centers are located, he said.

Sediq Sediqqi, spokesman of Interior Ministry, twitted that one person was killed and two passersby got injured in the explosion.

Unofficial sources said that the killed was an administrative worker of the Afghan parliament. Further details about the incident are still forthcoming amid the absence of official statement.

No group has claimed responsibility yet for the attack, but the Taliban insurgent group routinely claims responsibility for such attacks.

About 1,601 civilian were killed and 3,565 injured in the first six months of 2016, according to the UN assistance mission officials in Afghanistan. Enditem
