Euro area annual inflation up to 0.2 pct in July

Eurozone inflation in July rose to the highest since the end of last year, figures released by Eurostat showed on Friday.

The flash estimate of the euro area annual inflation is expected to be 0.2 percent in July, up from 0.1 percent in the previous month.

According to Eurostat, inflation was mainly supported by higher food, alcohol and tobacco prices which rose 1.4 percent compared with 0.9 percent in June, while services rose 1.2 percent.

Energy prices were down by 6.6 percent in July compared by 6.4 percent in June. Endit
