The Premier League newcomers Middlesbrough announced on Friday the signing of Aston Villa's American goalkeeper Brad Guzan.

The 31-year-old goalie has agreed on a two-year deal.

Guzan made 34 appearances for relegated Villa last season and played every match in his country's campaign in the Copa America this year.

Guzan is expected to be a back-up player after Spain keeper Victor Valdes. Endit
