Albanian gov't increases pensions

Xinhua, July 28, 2016 Adjust font size:

Albania will increase pensions by 1.6 percent this year, the government announced Wednesday.

The increase will be applied to all categories of pensioners, said Blendi Klosi, the minister of social welfare and youth.

The increase for this year is higher than the 1.3-percent rise for last year and is higher than the 1.2-percent inflation this year, said the minister.

The decision will be implemented on Aug. 1, with around 635,000 pensioners benefiting from the increase. Endi
