1st LD: Suitcase explodes in southern Germany: media

A suitcase exploded near a reception center for refugees in Zirndorf, a city near Nuremberg in southern Germany, local media reported on Wednesday.

The explosion occurred about 200 meters from the reception center. The police have arrived at the scene, reported Bavarian Radio, citing the police.

The radio initially said that the explosion occurred in a migration office.

According to police, eyewitnesses reported a loud bang and then discovered a burning suitcase in a small garden.
