138 terror suspects to stand trial in Bahrain

As many as 138 suspects will face terror trial on Aug. 23 in Bahrain for charges of activating sleeper cells, links to murder attempts and bomb blasts, official said on Tuesday.
The suspects have been booked for being part of Al-Zulfiqar terrorist group who ran sleeper cells, said Terror Crimes Prosecution Chief Hamad Shaheen.
They were receiving training on weapons and explosives, attempting on murders of policemen and behind bomb blasts, said Shaheen.
Of the total 138 suspects, 86 are in detention and 52 are still at large, he said.
He added that the case dates back to last November and they've finished the investigation to "refer it to the court."
Bahrain in April approved a list of 68 terrorist organizations that were recognized regionally and internationally, in addition to the list of local terrorist organization.
The lists included Hezbollah, al-Qaida, the Islamic State, the Nusra Front and other outlawed groups. Endit
