5 Saudi guards killed in Yemen border

The Saudi Interior Ministry said on Monday the five Saudi border guards were killed when foiling infiltration attempt in Saudi-Yemeni borders, Saudi Press Agency reported.

The guards confronted an armed group at the border city Najran, the ministry said, adding that clashes between the Saudi forces and the armed group continued for eight hours.

The report didn't clarify the identity of the group.

Saudi air forces on Saturday destroyed a ballistic missile attack in Najarn launched by Houthis in Yemen.

Most of the missiles launched from Yemen were intercepted and destroyed before hitting their targets by the air forces.

Saudi Arabia has been leading a war in Yemen since March 2015. Endit
