Arab League summit opens amid calls on fighting terrorism

The 27th Arab League summit kicked off on Monday in Mauritania's capital Nouakchott with focus on the issue of terrorism and its impacts on national security of Arab countries.

Delegates from over 20 member states of the Arab world and international organizations are expected to exchange views on crises in the Arab world including Libya, Syria, Yemen, Iraq and Palestine during the two-day annual event.

The theme of this year's gathering is "Arab Summit of Hope". Endit
