Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto travels to Washington on Thursday to discuss a wide range of issues with his U.S. counterpart, Barack Obama, officials said.

The meeting between the two leaders represents a unique opportunity to revise the state of the bilateral agenda ahead of the imminent change of administration in the United States, Foreign Minister Claudia Ruiz Massieu told a news conference.

"The results that they will obtain from this visit will represent a very important step in order to expand and deepen dialogue with the United States," said the foreign minister.

Eduardo Sanchez, spokesman for the Presidency Office, said Pena Nieto and Obama will mainly discuss climate change, energy, regional cooperation and border issues. Endi
