Despres wins the 12th stage of the Silkway Rally

The 2016 Silkway Rally relaunched here on Thursday after the 11th stage was cancelled due to bad weather as Cyril Despres capitalized Sebastien Loeb's mistake to win the 12th stage.

Loeb, who finished the stage first got 4-hour penalty after the race as he missed two waypoints in his route. And his teammate Despres marked his another stage win with 5 hours, 4 minutes and 48 seconds. Yazeed Mohamed Al Rahji and Vladimir Vasilyev from Mini All4 Racing ranked second and third respectively.

The victory extended Despres' overall standings lead by nearly 30 minutes.

Chinese driver Han Wei ranked 5th in this stage and moved up to 6th place in the overall standings.

The 13th stage on Friday will take place between Alashan and Wuhai over a distance of 724km. Endit
