Al Rajhi wins Silkway Rally 8th stage

Al Rajhi Yazeed Mohamed maintained his fourth place in the overall standings of Silkway Rally after winning the 8th stage here on Sunday.

Al Rajhi, from Saudi Arabia, driving for the Mini ALL4 Racing team, completed the 256km selective section from Bortala to Urumqi in 3 hours, 10 minutes and 24 seconds.

Sebastien Loeb of France was second in his Peugeot, 31 seconds behind. Loeb's compatriot Stephane Peterhansel was third, 55 seconds behind Al Rajhi.

Cyril Despres from Peugeot ranked fourth in the section and leads the overall standings by 6 minutes and 58 seconds.

Chinese driver Zhou Yong finished in the 11th place in 3 hours, 32 minutes and 10 seconds.

Monday's 9th stage will take place between Urumqi and Hami over a distance of 719km. Endit
