Russia's famous Aurora cruiser returned to its eternal parking lot on the Petrograd embankment in St. Petersburg on Friday.

TASS reports that Aurora will be open to visitors on July 31, the Russian Navy Day.

The refurbishment of the ship cost 840 million rubles (about 13 million U.S. dollars), it included the renovation of the cruiser's hull and life support systems and creation of a new permanent exhibition.

Aurora cruiser participated in the Russo-Japanese War in 1904-1905 and the October revolution in 1917. The ship is now used as a museum. Endit
