Xinhua, July 15, 2016 Adjust font size:

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi on Friday condemned with the strongest words the terrorist attack that took place in the French city Nice on Thursday evening.

The Egyptian president also expressed heartfelt condolences to French President Francois Hollande and the friendly French government and people in the statement issued by the Egyptian Presidency.

The death toll rises to 84 from an attack in which a truck rammed into a crowd marking the French national day in Nice.

With 18 people remaining in critical condition, the death toll may continue to rise.

Sisi also voiced full solidarity of Egypt with all international efforts that are aimed at fighting terrorism that is not restricted to a certain border or religion.

Sisi expressed full confidence that in such terrorist incidents, the will of peace-loving countries and peoples will never weaken.

All international efforts should be united within the framework of a comprehensive strategy for fighting terrorism which is seeking to undermine stability and security in all parts of the world, the statement said. Endit
