Cuban president makes cabinet changes

Cuban President Raul Castro on Wednesday replaced his Economy Minister and Vice President Marino Murillo by Ricardo Cabrisas.

An official announcement said the replacement was made so that Murillo, who has headed reforms under President Castro for the last few years, will "concentrate his efforts on tasks related to updating Cuba's economic and social model."

Higher Education Minister Rodolfo Alarcon was replaced by Deputy Education Minister Jose Saborido.

Last week, Castro replaced Culture Minister Julian Gonzalez, and appointed his advisor on cultural matters, Abel Prieto, who had already headed that ministry for over 20 years. Endi
