Germany's benchmark DAX index falls slightly

The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Wednesday fell slightly and closed at 9,930.71 points.

Profit taking was blamed for the loss of DAX index which advanced for several trading days. The blue-chip DAX index lost 33.36 points, or 0.33 percent.

The two utilities companies led the risers' list. RWE rose by 4.52 percent. EON climbed by 2.51 percent. ProSiebenSat1 Media advanced by 0.86 percent. Vonovia, a real estate company, added 0.86 percent. Muenchener Rueckversicherungs-Gesellschaft, an insurance and reinsurance company, went up by 0.24 percent.

Infineon Technologies, a semiconductor producer, fell by 2.24 percent. Continental lost 1.84 percent. Commerzbank dropped by 1.73 percent. Thyssenkrupp slipped by 1.7 percent. Deutsche Bank went down by 1.68 percent.

Daimler was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 256.12 million euros (around 283.76 million U.S. dollars). Endit
