Former Burundi gov't minister shot dead by unknown gunmen

Former Burundi government minister Hafsa Mossi was shot dead at her house in Gihosha in the Burundian capital Bujumbura, a police spokesman said on Twitter on Wednesday.

"MP Hafsa Mossi was shot by two unidentified gunmen at her home around 10:30 (08:30 GMT). She died later when she was evacuated at hospital," said Burundian Police Spokesman Pierre Nkurikiye.

Mossi was Burundi's East African Community (EAC) Affairs Minister and an MP in the East African Legislative Assembly.

She was a member of the Burundian ruling party and a former journalist. Endit
