China to launch professional boxing league in September

Xinhua, July 13, 2016 Adjust font size:

A brand-new Chinese professional boxing league will be launched in September, the organizers IBCA announced here on Wednesday.

The International Boxing Crown Alliance plans to organize two to four bouts every month, with major Chinese cities being selected as the venues.

"Boxing is welcomed by a lot of Chinese people, but we don't have our own professional league. We hope this event will become famous and influential in years to come," said Lu Zhongxue, the chairman of IBCA.

The champion's golden belt, which features a dragon and the Great Wall, was also presented at the press conference. Endit
