British FTSE 100 rise 1.40 pct on Monday

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Monday rose by 1.40 percent, or 92.22 points, to 6,682.86 points.

Share price of Anglo American increased by 8.58 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. Travis Perkins, Barratt Developments, Persimmon and Taylor Wimpey increased by 7.81 percent, 7.72 percent, 7.11 percent and 7.07 percent respectively.

Rolls-Royce Holdings led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 1.50 percent, following by Shire (0.48 percent), Smith & Nephew (0.46 percent), AstraZeneca (0.39 percent) and Severn Trent (0.24 percent). Endit
