SWISS records slight drop in passengers in 1st half of 2016

Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) reported a 0.9 decline in passengers in the first half of 2016, from the same period last year, the company reported Monday.

While the number of customers who used the Lufthansa-owned company fell, SWISS indicated there had been a 1.4-percent increase in flights in the period under review.

SWISS also highlighted the rise in the number of clients who flew with the flagship Swiss carrier in June this year.

Figures show that 1,422,950 people flew with the company last month, 0.7 percent more than in June 2015.

Similarly, the number of flights operated by the air company increased, reaching 12,498 flights by the end of June, up 1.2 percent from June 2015. Endit
