Singapore stocks close 1.02 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 29.10 points, or 1.02 percent, to close at 2,876.14.

A total of 1.39 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 927.8 million Singapore dollars (687.6 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 243 to 168, while 497 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 15.13 points, or 0.53 percent, to close at 2,847.04 on July 8. Endit
