7 more suspects seized over Istanbul airport attack

Seven more suspects were detained overnight for their links to the bombing attacks on Istanbul's main airport last month, Turkish media reported on Monday.

The arrests were made in Istanbul following risk analysis and profile assessment reports by anti-terror police, the state-run Anadolu Agency said, citing judicial sources.

The suspects face charges of "being a member of armed terrorist group" and "assisting premediated homicide," the agency noted.

Three foreign nationals opened fire at crowds and then blew themselves up at the international terminal of the Ataturk Airport on June 28, leaving 45 people dead and more than 200 others injured.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, but Turkish officials said they believe it was conducted by the Islamic State group.

As of now 37 suspects, many of them foreign nationals, have been arrested. Endit
