1st LD: Fire breaks out in China Town restaurant in London

Fire broke out in a restaurant in China Town in central London on Sunday, London Fire Brigade (LFB) confirmed.

LFB said they were called at 12:08, six fire engines and 35 firefighters and officers rushed to a restaurant on Gerrard Street in Soho.

The fire is affecting part of the basement kitchen, the restaurant's ducting between the ground floor and the roof and part of the building's roof, said LFB.

Crew from nearby fire stations are at the scene, people have been urged to avoid the area.

LFB said the cause of the firs is unknown at this stage. Endit
