Stade Rennais' Diagne joins Bremen

Xinhua, July 9, 2016 Adjust font size:

Werder Bremen have signed defender Fallou Diagne from French outfit Stade Rennais, the Bundesliga club confirmed on Friday.

The "Green-Whites" have bolstered up their defence with immediate effect as Fallou Diagne put pen to paper on a three-year deal, which keeps him at Bremen until June 2019.

"Fallou is a very well-trained player who made the next step in his development," Bremen's sporting director Frank Baumann said. "He is with his 26 years already a seasoned centre back, who gained some experience in France as well in the Bundesliga with Freiburg."

The 26-year-old new arrival played from 2012 until 2014 at Freiburg before he joined Rennais to score five goals in 35 appearances. Diagne debuted for Senegal's national team in May 2016.
