Malta popularizes gender neutral toilets at gov't level

Xinhua, July 8, 2016 Adjust font size:

Gender neutral toilets are to be established on the premises of all ministries by September 2016, the Maltese government announced on Friday.

In a statement, the country's ministry for social dialogue, consumer affairs, and civil liberties said gender neutral toilets ensured privacy and eliminated discomfort for trans and gender variant persons, who find themselves in uncomfortable situations when using gender segregated toilets.
