1st LD-Writethru: Chinese shares close higher Wednesday

Chinese stocks closed higher on Wednesday, after swings in positive territory throughout the day.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.36 percent to end at 3,017.29 points. The smaller Shenzhen index closed 0.37 percent higher at 10,641.65 points.
The ChiNext Index, which tracks China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.2 percent to close at 2,241.56 points.
Turnover on the two bourses stood at 663.6 billion yuan (99.34 billion U.S.dollars), down slightly from the previous trading day.
Gold producers rallied, as worries over Britain's vote to leave the European Union spurred safe-haven buying.
Five gold shares rose by the daily limit of 10 percent. Zijin Mining Group Co., one of China's biggest gold producers, gained 5.75 percent to finish at 3.68 yuan.
The food processing sector also performed strongly. Maiquer, a leading food producer, jumped by the 10-percent daily limit to 61.45 yuan. Endi
