Frankfurt sign Tawatha from Maccabi Haifa

Eintracht Frankfurt have completed the transfer of Taleb Tawatha from Israeli top-flight club Maccabi Haifa, the "Eagles" confirmed on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old Israel international will reinforce Frankfurt's defence for the upcoming season after putting pen to paper on a three-year deal, stipulated until June 2019.

"We are delighted that we were able to sign with Taleb Tawatha a player, who creates a competitive situation in our back four. His strengths are certainly his dynamic, ball-winning abilities and his offensive game," Frankfurt's sporting director Bruno Huebner said.

The new arrival started his senior career in 2009 at Maccabi Haifa where he provided 10 goals in 153 appearances ever since. He is, in addition, part of Israel's national team where he made four caps since his debut in 2011.

"I have heard a lot about the team as well as the club. I am looking forward to my new task. Eintracht Frankfurt is a big club," Taleb Tawatha said.

Frankfurt ensured another season in the Bundesliga after securing a crucial win in the relegation/promotion play off. The "Eagles" clash with Schalke to open their season 2016-2017 on August 27. Endit
