Former Juventus manager Ferrara starts to coaching Wuhan Zhuo'er

Xinhua, July 5, 2016 Adjust font size:

Former Juventus manager Ciro Ferrara will be the coach of Chinese second division team Wuhan Zhuo'er, the club announced on Tuesday.

Zhuo'er, ranked 11th in the league standings with only 19 points in 16 games, sacked their coach Zheng Xiong last month due to the team's poor performance. The club officially confirmed on Tuesday that the Italian coach Ferrara will take over Zheng's position.

Ferrara, the former Juventus and Napoli player, was also part of Italian national team in his career. After his retirement in 2005, he started the coaching career and won 2006 World Cup as the assistant of Lippi. He has also worked as the manager of Juventus and Sampdoria in 2010 and 2012.

The Italian coach said he had talked with the players and had great knowledge of them.

"I will bring the European football concept to the team, try to help the team win matches and repay the club," he said. Endit
