A 10-year-old boy fatally shot his cousin Sunday at Rehoboth in Namibia, a town abut 90 kilometers south of the capital Windhoek.

The Namibian police said the incident happened when the boy's family was on an outing, and that the boy has not been arrested.

According to the police, the boy took the gun from his father's car after he had earlier been ordered not to play with the weapon.

The cousin who was shot is 23-year-old Jerome Hangue, whom police said died on the way to the hospital.

He was shot with a 9 mm pistol.

Police spokesperson Kauna Shikwambi said a docket has since been opened and will be sent to the prosecutor's office. Endit
