Hamburg' s Holtby suffers injury during trainings camp

Lewis Holtby will be sidelined for several weeks after suffering a fall from the bicycle in the trainings camp, Hamburg confirmed in an official statement on Saturday.

The 25-year-old midfielder sustained a collarbone fracture in his left shoulder and had therefore to undergo a surgery.

"This is of course a big shock for us and I am very sorry for Lewis. He left a really good impression after the first days of the trainings camp. We wish him a speedy recovery and we will him support in the best possible way," Hamburg' s coach Bruno Labbadia said.

Holtby, who made overall 19 goals in 155 Bundesliga appearances, joined Hamburg from Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur in September 2014.

The "HSV" completed the last Bundesliga season on the 10th place. They encounter Ingolstadt at their season opener on August 27. Endit
