China appoints new education minister

China's top legislature on Saturday appointed Chen Baosheng as minister of education, replacing Yuan Guiren.

The decision was adopted at the closing meeting of the bi-monthly session of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, which runs from Monday to Saturday.

Chen was Party chief of Chinese Academy of Governance before replacing Yuan. Endi
