The following are highlights of South African major media outlets on Saturday.
-- New vehicle sales disappointed yet again in June, falling 10.6 percent from a year earlier and dragging 2016 first-half sales down 9.9 percent compared to the corresponding six months of 2015.
Sales of new vehicles in June totalled 44,939, compared to 50,250 in June 2015. For January-June, the combined figure of 272,461 was well below last year's 302,553. (Business Day)
-- Cuban ambassador to South Africa, Carlos Fernández de Cossío has for the first time attended the 4th of July celebrations by the United States embassy in Pretoria.
De Cossio also had a private meeting with US ambassador Patrick Gaspard on the sidelines of the celebrations at his official home on Thursday. (News24)
-- President Jacob Zuma says he is confident the African National Congress (ANC) will win all the sub-regions in the Abaqulusi municipality.
