Portugal's ministry of foreign affairs on Wednesday condemned the deadly Istanbul terror attack at the Ataturk airport which killed at least 41 people.

"The Portuguese government transmits its deep regret to the Turkish authorities and to the families of the victims for the loss of lives of loved ones, and its solidarity with those injured and with the Turkish people," the ministry said in an official statement.

"The Portuguese government reiterates its firm condemnation of terrorism of all forms and its commitment to pursuit of collective actions against atrocious terrorism," it added.

Condolences and condemnation have followed the attack in countries around the world. Turkish officials have blamed the attack on three suicide bombers linked to Daesh (ISIS) militants. Endit
