according to the breeding center.
The new additions are the third set of twins at Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Center in the last fortnight, and the fourth set this year, staff with the center said.
Yuan Yuan delivered her first cub at 10:17 a.m. and the second 42 minutes later. The cubs, both female, weighed 174.6 grams and 113.6 grams.
The mother started to show reduced appetite on June 3 and became restless a few days later, before exhibiting prenatal behavior on Wednesday, said one of the center's panda experts Wu Kongju.
